Serve Our Mission

To eliminate hunger, and alleviate poverty, we must work together. THSC depends on the generosity and commitments of volunteers to serve the 45,000 people who enter our doors each year.


Without the help of our volunteers, we would not be able to help to serve the large number of people we see each day.


Please get involved and volunteer at Trinity Human Services. THSC has four different program areas that required volunteer help. They include:

Food Pantry

Responsibilities

  • Mondays: Unload food truck deliveries
  • Tues-Fri: Keep all shelves organized, clean, and well-stocked
  • Assist food pantry staff by bagging food items or assisting clients to shop
  • Hold cooking demonstrations featuring food pantry products

    Food Pantry Open Hours:  From 9:00 am-11:30 am
    and 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm from Tuesday to Friday 

Thrift Shop

Responsibilities

  • Sort and store clothing donations
  • Keep all shelves organized, clean, and well-stocked
  • Help organize the store and merchandise the inventory
  • Provide friendly, high quality customer service

Free Tax Prep

Responsibilities

  • January-April provide assistance to clients with completing their tax returns
  • Help file tax returns online
  • Must have experience with preparing tax forms

Fundraising

Responsibilities

  • Plan special fundraising events
  • Lead social media campaigns
  • Build restaurant support network

To Volunteer:

As a Group

THSC hosts groups from many different organizations, including schools, colleges, religious congregations, and private companies. Volunteer groups help with food deliveries, stock shelves, assist customers, and much more. A volunteer event at THSC is a perfect service day activity or a team-building event. Come meet the neighbors of North Brooklyn and pitch in at our friendly food pantry!


Due to space constraints, we can only accept a maximum of 6-8 people at a time. We recommend scheduling in advance for a group event. Please contact us at Info@trinityhumanservices.org  or at 718-388-3176 to schedule your group volunteer event.
